Founder and President Dan Wright has over 26 years of multi-discipline emergency response and public safety experience.
Dan began his public safety career at an all volunteer fire department in 1998 where he rose through the ranks to Deputy Chief holding that position for 4 years.
He retired with 17 years experience with Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service in Birmingham, Alabama. Dan rose through the ranks from firefighter to apparatus driver to Lieutenant and retired as a Captain. His urban firefighting career was 17 years of working on the busiest companies in the largest department in Alabama, with the last years serving in the Safety Division as a Shift Safety Officer.
Dan also had the privilege of being a public safety dispatcher since 2001. Dan served as the Deputy Director for Baldwin County, AL 911 for 4 years overseeing dispatch operations of the third largest PSAP in Alabama answering 130,000 911 calls and dispatching 50,000 CAD events annually with a staff of 24 Dispatchers and 4 Dispatch Supervisors.
Dan got his dispatch career started with Chilton County, AL 9-1-1 where he served as the executive director of the agency from 2011 through April 2020. Dan has worked in various capacities in the 9-1-1 field from call taking, dispatching, information technology, GIS and leadership. Dan has a deep passion for public safety communications and how technology can be of benefit to dispatchers and responders alike.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science and an Information Technology Certificate from Columbia Southern University, is certified to the Pro Board Fire Officer III and Fire Instructor II level, ICS 400, along with numerous other fire service and Emergency Management Institute certifications.
Dan's scope of work also includes project management, grant writing, policy development, budget forecasting, development and management, personnel management, strategic planning, personnel development, training program development, and government operating strategy. Dan has also given presentations on "Fire Communications for the Dispatcher" at the Alabama Chapter of APCO and Alabama Chapter of NENA yearly conferences.
